THE RULES

BreakTheCode.Tech (and its current edition Break The Code 2) is a fun game (“Contest”) designed by .Tech Domains to challenge players, who are called Codebreakers, to solve puzzles, referred to as Missions, based on interesting topics including but not limited to logic, programming, cryptology, science, ciphers, and trivia.

BreakTheCode.Tech officially opened on March 25th, 2022 at 00:00 EDT and closed on April 15th, 2022 at 23:59 EDT.

The Contest is structured into 4 Drives that are made available to the Codebreakers based on the schedule (“Schedule”) below, and comprises various Missions that are designed to test different skills that Codebreakers may or may not possess.

The Schedule also contains the dates and times by when the winners for the respective Drives will be announced. It should be noted that Codebreakers can experience the Drives even after the winners for those respective Drives are announced.

Drive Start Date End Date Announcement of Winner/s
1 March 25th, 00:00 EDT April 15th, 23:59 EDT Announced on Instagram
2 March 31st, 00:00 EDT April 15th, 23:59 EDT Announced on Instagram
3 April 6th, 00:00 EDT April 15th, 23:59 EDT Announced on Instagram
4 April 12th, 00:00 EDT April 15th, 23:59 EDT Announced on Instagram
*All dates are in 2022.

Needless to say, the Missions get increasingly hard to complete as Codebreakers go through the Drives.

How do I play?

You can sign up for the Contest on the website www.breakthecode.tech using either your Google, Twitter, Discord, or Github account.

On signing up, you become a Codebreaker and will be eligible to unlock the 4 Drives as you progress through the Contest, as and when the Drives are made available based on the Schedule defined above.

To complete a Drive, you, as a Codebreaker, are expected to solve every Mission in that Drive.

What if you get stuck in the game and need help?

We expect the Codebreakers to get stuck because the Contest isn’t going to be a walk in the park.

But not to worry, we have your back! Hints and clues have been provided within every Mission in the Contest. Once the Codebreaker finds and deduces their meaning, the Missions would become a lot simpler to solve.

Codebreakers can access the Hint screen by clicking on the Help Section present in every Mission.

Codebreakers can access these Hints by following these steps:

  • Codebreakers invite new players to play certain minigames, AND
  • These new players also sign up to play the Contest after solving the minigames
